Ignores you
One minute he's falling all over himself to get your attention. The next, he barely remembers your name. If your boy plays it cool in front of his gang, don't take it personally. A guy's biggest fear is that his friends will think he's whipped. And instead of being happy that he found such a great girl, they're probably worried that you'll prompt him to stop hanging out with them. So play like you're one of the guys -- that way, his friends won't feel so threatened by you. Later, tell him you're tired of being ignored. Once he sees that you're not going to put up with it, he should get his act together.

Flirts with other girls
Before you storm off in a huff, take a deep breath and ask yourself this question: Is he really interested in her or is he just interested in making you jealous? Instead of coming right out and telling you he thinks you're cool, a guy will use all kinds of crazy tactics to get your attention. It's all about proving what a great catch he is. The last thing you want to do is call him on it, because a reaction's exactly what he's after. If you act like you don't care, he's bound to stop flirting in no time.

Kisses and tells
Don't panic. Your best bet is to ask a few trusted friends to find out what he's really saying. Then, once you're armed with all the facts, confront the guy in a public place, preferably when his friends are around. And while it may not change people's minds about what happened, it will definitely make him cringe with embarrassment.

Won't stop clinging to you
The attention may seem cute at first, but if you're dating a needy guy, the key is to set clear boundaries early on or you may just find yourself too close for comfort. Make sure you establish a weekly girls' night out so he knows that you need some friend time. If he's the type to call you every five minutes just to find out where you are, you may want to tell him to back off a bit. Explain that while you love being close to him, you value your independence too.

Becomes a major mooch
Does your guy conveniently leave his wallet at home every time you go out? Are you always stuck buying the movie tickets and the popcorn? Most high school guys aren't rolling in dough, but splitting the bill 50-50 is only fair. If you're always the one laying out the cash, you may want to have a heart to heart with your guy. Tell him you're willing to carry your load, but if he wants a sugar mama, he'll have to look elsewhere.

Thinks he's too cool for school
When he's not talking about himself, he acts like he's God's gift to women. Oftentimes, these are the guys who are completely insecure. Telling him he's not all that can backfire, especially if he's really not that confident deep down. Remind him that you like him better when he's not trying to act cool -- you like him when he's just being himself.
